I put these two photos together so you could see how things looked before and after the collapse of the rigging. My friend Daryl shared the links to these photos. The photo on the right was posted by Rich Evers, I’m not sure exactly who posted the photo on the left.

Sugarland (@Sugarlandmusic) and Sara Bareilles (@SaraBareilles) were in concert tonight, which I was really bummed out about because I would have loved to have gone to hear Sara sing.

Ryan doesn’t have the problem. In fact some of my favorite works of his have amazing contrast and clarity in the images. He has a very cubist style in my opinion, and puts that touch on a variety of familiar scenes around Indianapolis. The image included in this post is titled “120 E. Market”, and captures one of the city’s icons, Monument Circle.

Ryan’s work will be featured at the Johnson County Museum of History from September 2nd through January 6th, 2012. If you enjoy watercolor and great art, you’ll definitely want to make sure you take the time to go see his talents. The museum is located in the old Masonic Temple at 135 North Main Street, in Franklin, IN.

One of the truly positive features of Indianapolis is the award winning and nationally acclaimed The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. News was announced recently that a new partnership with National Geographic will bring a new, permanent exhibit to The Children’s Museum that will help children live and explore archaeology at a new level.

The exhibit “will transport families to world-renowned archeological excavation sites filled with amazing treasures for a hands-on adventure,” Jeffrey Patchen, president and CEO of the museum, said in a prepared statement. The exhibit is intended to give visitors a taste of discovering, investigating and interpreting an archeological site.

I’ve been to The Children’s Museum a number of times in my life as a child and now as a dad taking my own children to enjoy the museum. Every time I’ve been there I’ve learned something new and my kids have had a great time learning as well.
